Radolfzell, Germany: Carnival customs in Corona times, between prohibition and renitence. The intangible cultural heritage carnival, recognized by UNESCO, has been repeatedly banned in Central Europe since the late Middle Ages. From this, however, strategies have always developed that have kept Carnival alive to this day. There were also bans during the current pandemic. The question that Michael Fuchs investigates in this lecture is how did the practitioners in southwest Germany deal with these regulations?
